Japanese Garden, Hatley Park

Part of the new Royal Roads University grounds is the Japanese Gardens in Hatley Park. The park is part of what once was the estate of James Dunsmuir. The castle was designed by Samuel McLure - a well known architect in Victoria, in the early 1900s. More here

Hi Maggie - We discovered that Japanese garden by accident 12 years ago when we were in Victoria on our honeymoon - what a beautiful garden it is. Great memories :-)

Did you get the snow from this last snow like we did? "Winter" is getting tiresome! T.

Oops - looks like I should have read down a little further - Great picture of the walker in the red boots! I'll bet the snow wasn't gone the next day, tho, was it? LOL T.

Wellll.... ummmmmmmmmm... we still have icy streets. Its just cold enough to keep this mess around but not cold enough to get any good hoar frost shots or icicles. I must go hunting icicles in the fountains or somewhere...

Nice to hear from you. I think you had a good Christmas season. All the best to you and yours in the new year.

keep warm and dry. :))
