Shooting through the glass at one of the main attractions in our Royal British Columbia Museum. I tweaked it a bit in my photo editor. Hope I haven't overdone it.

- Maggie
- I have several time consuming hobbies that I enjoy. Gardening was my first passion. When I got my computer my garden suffered some neglect but for all that the garden still looks pretty good. To those two I have more recently added photography. Photography relates to all of my hobbies, as well as to travel, and seems to tie them all together. I have a high maintenance, wonderfull husband, who remains the primary interest.

I remember that display at the museum. When I took a picture of it with film I used a 1000 speed film. You should be able to mimic that with a setting on your camera. I have a Pentax IST D2 and it lets me set a film speed rating.

Hi there.
This is quite an old photo. I don't even remember what camera I used. They have changed the lighting on the great beast now. Its quite a dark display, and so is the lighting in the room. Its very dramatic, but hard to shoot.
If I set my Canon S3 IS to a high ISO I get a lot of noise. Its not the best camera in low light. Perhaps a longer exposure? I might have to start dragging my tripod around with me.
Someday I will graduate to a dSLR.
I have always loved this Mammoth at the museum in Victoria! This is a GREAT photo of it too...
I went to there few week ago with my family.
We got really impressed :)
