Antique Auto tour to Sunshine Coast

This is more of the photos from our week end tour with the Antique autos. Since we had ample time waiting for the ferry to depart from Brentwood Bay I was taking quite a few snaps. I was using the ND filter as I expected there would be glare from the water. I am fairly happy with the way this filter works. I do need to pay attention to exposure compensation when using the filter. The starfish and the geese are zoomed into digital zoom, but are not too bad for blurry.

There were 26 cars from 1915 and prior. Cadillacs, Reo, Fords, a Rolls, Buicks and McLaughlins, Hupmobile, Oakland, Morris Cowly, Abbot Detroit, Kissel Kar, and a Packard. More on this later.

Antique Auto tour to Sunshine Coast

Marvelous reflections at the ferry dock. I will be adding more photos from this tour as we proceed through the day to get to the meet, the 2 days of touring on the Sunshine Coast, and the day to return.
On Thursday, June 4, about 7:30 am we put our trunk on the back of the Speedster and headed for the Brentwood Bay / Mill Bay ferry. We arrived there in plenty of time to catch the first boat across. The sun is shining and it is getting warmer by the minute.

Victoria Grid Project for February

I finished loading my photos to the Victoria Grid Project for February. I was using my ND grad. filter and the colors turned out looking really rich... almost velvia. It was a bright, sunny, mid afternoon shoot. The bridge ones turned out quite nice too, but I don't think I will load them here.

Pat and I had picked up a deli sandwich at the Red Barn deli and went to the Gorge Park in the Van to have our lunch. I have some good photos from that Park, too that I want to sort for any keepers. The Red Barn deli has some very good food. The cookies are superb! Must go back and get some for a treat here.

Some October Color

These three photos are from last month when I was out shooting for the Victoria Grid Project group on Flickr. It was a lovely sunny day with the glorious colors of Autumn reflected in the waters of the Colquitz River. I am thinking of having each of these printed, matted and framed for my gallery in my newly painted room when it is finished.

I have a nasty cold so I am wimping around the house. The sun came out this afternoon and it was very tempting to get out with my camera. We have had bits of rain, but not a lot. The colors have been really fine this Fall, so I was happy to get a few photos of them.

Frost

While shooting through my living room window at the glorious autumn color on my liquid amber tree I caught this unusual reflection. I believe it is reflecting the railing of the stairs. I have no idea why it went the golden color, but as I looked out at the tree I could see these four golden columns, so I snapped them of course.

The frost photo is in macro mode of the deck railing. Ken Anderson told me how to get sharper photos with my Canon S3 IS by setting the 'my colors' to a custom setting with sharpness and contrast pumped up. I think it works much better now. Thanks so much for the help, Ken.

We have had cooler weather with ice on the bird bath, the water table and the water features. My pond is beginning to fill again from the rains. I raked leaves the other day but, of course, the grass path is covered with the lovely colored leaves again.

Victoria Grid Project H 31 August

On Thursday after my Doctor's appointment, I walked around part of the area that is in the Victoria Grid Project for August. I spent about 4 hours shooting. It was a very nice warm day. The sun was really too bright for really good shots. The Group has some very nice night shots posted. I have some photos from this area from June that I will load to my grid folder after August, or whenever I get them resized and ready for the web. I am going to try to stay under the 30 photos limit for the month that I have set for myself, to load to the group. I have 6 already and have just started to look at the stuff. We are allowed 50 at the moment.

We had a very early start today as the Guys wanted to get Dan's truck into the lineup for the 3:00 coho ferry. After getting the truck into the lineup Pat drove us all about to find a nice place for breakfast. After finally Paul's open and after breakfast we toured some more around town. I did not get anything in photos that are really worthwhile, but I do have some ideas of where to go, if ever.....yeah, if ever I get the time.

Reflections

From Wednesday morning while waiting to have the Bentley fitted for its decorations. I got quite a few good reflections. This was on July 31st. Some of my shots are from just within the August Grid, but taken one day early. I also have shots from a couple of months ago from Lo Jo and the whole area of the August Grid. Oh well, maybe I can go down there again. It was fun to shoot. Also, the dragon boat festival is on in 17 to 19th. I am going to miss the Splash because the wedding is the same day. Oh well.
